Upcoming photoshoot and have no idea what to wear? Check out these tips:
- Coordinate Outfits: Coordinate the family's outfits in terms of color and style, but avoid being too matchy-matchy. Choose complementary colors and avoid loud patterns.
- Location: Take account location of the photoshoot. If your location is very green, avoid wearing too much green. If it's snowing, avoid white. If it is fall colors like brown, avoid too much browns.
- Avoid Wrinkles: Prep your clothes by ironing the day of.
- Comfort is Key: Ensure that everyone is dressed comfortably, especially the kids. Avoid clothing with tight collars, itchy materials, or uncomfortable shoes.
- Layering: Layering can add depth and style to photos. Consider adding scarves, cardigans, or accessories to outfits.
- Avoid Harsh Patterns, Logos, and Characters: Discourage clothing with harsh patterns, logos, characters, or large graphics, as these can be distracting in photos.
- Neutral Tones: Neutral tones often work well for timeless, classic photos. Consider shades like maroons, beige, creams, gray, or soft pastels. If you do decide for a bold color, I would recommend a material that does not reflect sunlight.
- Avoid Neon Colors: Neon colors can cast unflattering tones on skin, so it's best to avoid them.
- Weather-Appropriate Attire: Dress appropriately for the weather, especially for outdoor shoots. Layer up for cold weather or opt for lightweight fabrics for hot weather. I am open to rainy day photos! If the show must go on, we can opt in to have umbrellas. There are many creative ways to style umbrellas.
- Glasses: Consider wearing contacts or no glasses for the photoshoot. Generally, photos with glasses can create a glare and plus, we love seeing your eyes!
